Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has fired warning shots to a section of politicians alleged to be dragging Deputy President William Ruto in the dam construction scandal in the country.
Ngunjiri argued that DP Ruto is being crucified by politicians allied to opposition more particularly ODM because of his 2022 presidential ambition.
"ODM lawmakers are spreading propaganda about DP Ruto who is innocent. Let those who have stolen money be arrested. Finance Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich has spoken on how the money was allocated for the construction of the dam and therefore, I'm appealing to leaders to start looking for the lost money from there," he said.
Ngunjiri said dragging DP Ruto into corruption will not block him from his 2022 bid.
"Ruto's rivals are out to spread propaganda so that they can divert minds of Kenyans from voting for DP Ruto. It is time we should stop blaming Ruto in every corruption allegation which arises in this country," the MP said.
He asked the DP to ignore his political rivals.
Ngunjiri was speaking during an interview on Monday evening.
