ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire wondered by areas MPs kept mum in parliament only to go around talking of development.

"In parliament, you're mandated to speak for the people. Moving around with some suspicious people in the name of development is unhelpful," he said.

Area MPs led by Ben Momanyi (Borabu) and Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), accused Bosire of sabotage, with Nyamoko challenging him to allow them work.

"We are in office. Allow us to deliver for people. You had your time and it's essential that you give us our time."

But a more moderate Governor John Nyagarama backed Bosire's sentiments, adding that development should involve all people.

Nyagarama, who is serving his second term, also urged locals to attend public participation events to directly contribute to development.

"We should work as a team for us to proper. Our people should also take advantage of public participation exercises."

Interestingly, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, a neighbour to the deceased was nowhere in action, raising eyebrows among those who attended.
