Patrick Hinga whose photo went viral after being rescued by her former classmate after years of drugs addiction in Kabete is dead.
Wanja Mwaura rescued Hinga from the jaws of addiction by taking him to a rehab.
She then rallied for support from well-wishers who helped put up a business for the deceased in readiness to welcome him after his stint at the rehab.
A few weeks after he was discharged, Hinga relapsed and Wanja never gave up on him. She took him to a rehab centre along Kiambu road.
However, on Sunday evening, Wanja took to her Facebook page where she shared the sad news about Hinga's demise.
In a separate post on Monday, Wanja revealed that Hinga was doing well until March 14 when he complained of stomach ache.
"Hinga was doing fine n (sic) he did his best to remain the man we all helped him to be. On Thursday, the 14th, Hinga left home n (sic) went to visit his friends in Kayole. Upon reaching there, he called his mom n (sic) complained of a stomach-ache though not serious, he spent the night there and said he will be ok."
"On Saturday late night the problem persisted n that's when he decided to go to the hospital but by the time the mother got to him early morning yesterday, he had already passed on. I feel confused n (sic) lost and I don't know what to say or think or even where to start," she added.
Wanja's kindness towards Hinga has since warmed the hearts of many.
