The DP hosted the trio along with Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Raila's spokesman Dennis Onyango for the lunch in yet another surprising move.

According to the Nation, President Uhuru drove in first and Raila, in the company of Wanjigi and Onyango, though driving in different vehicles, followed 20 minutes later.

Details about the lunchtime meeting remain scanty even as it comes amid heightened political tensions that have seen Uhuru read from different scripture from that of his principal assistant.

But for Mr Wanjigi, a former ally of Ruto and Uhuru, now with Raila, could breath a sigh of relief after hectic confrontation with the Jubilee duo on the run up for 2017 elections.

Last year, Raila was forced to sleep at his Muthaiga home when police forcefully broke into his compound on allegations that he was in possession of a gun.

The meeting may have presented him with s perfect opportunity to reconcile with the duo, after acrimonious fallout last year.

Suna East MP Junet Mohammed insists that Raila was only went to the meeting on the invitation of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“The thing is that the church is in the vicinity of the DP’s residence in Karen. The DP had invited the President. I don’t think the DP was expecting to see Mr Odinga,” said Mr Junet Mohamed, the Minority Whip in the National Assembly.

But Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen insists that Ruto invited both Uhuru and Raila as a sign of his strong believe in handshake.

“The DP just wanted to extend an olive branch and the spirit of working together with Mr Odinga in the wake of the handshake. That was all.”https://mobile.nation.co.ke/news/politics/William-Ruto-hosts-Uhuru--Raila-for-political-lunch/3126390-4834598-item-1-cib8glz/index.html.

Interestingly, Wanjigi did not feature in the photo session that saw the three leaders along with Murkomen pausing for the historic photos.

But from record, Wanjigi is pretty shy of the media and only his relationship with Raila and the death of his business partner Jacob Juma, brought him into the limelight despite being a key power player in Kenyan's politics.
