Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has confirmed ongoing claims that things are worsening between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
The two who were initially close have over the last few months given an impression of drifting apart, with a section of their allies also attacking and bashing each other.
Speaking on Tuesday evening, the ex-county boss noted that the former good relationship is falling off, a change coming only a year after opposition boss Raila Odinga's truce with Uhuru.
He blamed the fallout on the DP, accusing him of contradicting the president and defying his orders.
"I have known both of them and I have known Raila. Right now their (Uhuru and Ruto) relationship is not a bed of roses. It's not as rosy as people would want to imagine because there is no way your boss would say this and you are saying anything against it. It's like challenging your boss," said Kabogo.
He was speaking on Citizen TV's Newsnight on Tuesday.
Kabogo also took issue with Uhuru for being unable to stamp authority and make clear his relationship with the two who are also rivals, noting that the same has resulted in confusion.
He cleared Raila of the blame, saying that if he were the force behind the fallout, then it would be openly visible.
"It is the president who should rectify the situation but he looks weak. I support the handshake because if it was a problem then Raila would be a genius, but to me, he looks lost, he is nowhere and doing nothing," added Kabogo.
