Lawmakers from Nyamira County Assembly have been warned against interfering with the ongoing payroll purge, which has seen over 1,000 people sent home.
Senator Okong'o Mogeni on Monday accused MCAs of sneaking in names of their 'concubines and girlfriends' to the payroll, adding that they will not be spared either.
According to the Senior Counsel, a number of MCAs are on Governor John Nyagarama's neck, insisting that those affected should be reinstated immediately.
"We know they had sneaked their concubines and girlfriends to the payroll. I support the governor's decision to kick them out. If MCAs try to impeach you, I am a Senior Counsel, I will take care of that," he said.
Last week, MCAs forced Governor John Nyagarama into a late evening meeting, claiming that hundreds of those affected in the payroll cleaning should be reinstated.
Also, the MCAs demanded that over 600 ECDE teachers whose contracts expired, should also be let to continue serving the people of Nyamira.
During the Tindereti function on Monday, Governor John Nyagarama vowed to continue removing irregularly employed people from payroll.
"Bwana Senator, I am not scared. I will continue doing my job. Those who feel angered should just go to court," said Nyagarama.
