A section of the Machakos MCAs has demanded that Governor Alfred Mutua apologizes over his remarks against Speaker Florence Mwangangi.
The MCAs led by Majority Leader Mark Muendo said the governor stooped very low by verbally attacking Mwangangi.
"The governor demeaned the Speaker by calling her 'Kaveti' during his Mwala tour last week, it's proof he has no respect for women and should apologize with immediate effect," Muendo said.
They addressed the press at a hotel in Machakos town on Wednesday.
He said Mutua should respect any person in leadership position despite the rank, more so, women.
Muendo shot at the governor for failing to follow the due procedure in appointing CEC's and CO's to the executive.
He said those occupying the positions are in office illegally.
Muendo asked the governor to hasten the de-gazettement of the CECs' names for them to be approved by the assembly, a call the governor has been trashing.
"The executive is squandering taxpayers' money when it's obvious they are illegally in office and the governor has adamantly refused to de-gazzete them," Muendo said.
