Speaking when he held a series of rallies in Matuga and Msambweni areas in Kwale county Sunday, the opposition ally said that he will again vie for the seat in the approaching 2022 polls.

Comparing himself to former opposition leaders who ended up as Presidents, Mudavadi predicted his presidency in the near future.

He gave examples of President Uhuru Kenyatta, his predecessor Mwai Kibaki and Daniel Moi, noting that he is also headed towards the presidency after years in the opposing side.

“(President) Uhuru was in the opposition as the Chairman of KANU and he is now president. (Daniel arap) Moi was in the opposition and became president. (Mwai) Kibaki was in the opposition and became president,” he was quoted by the Citizen Digital.

“I, Musalia, am now also in opposition why would I not become president?” wondered the leader who finished third in his presidential attempt in 2013.

Mudavadi had also announced his bid for the previous 2017 general polls before throwing his weight behind opposition leader Raila Odinga under the National Super Alliance (NASA) umbrella.

The latter, however, lost to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
