Speaking on Radio Maisha Tuesday morning, Aladwa said contrary to a perception that ODM is opposing Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid, the opposition has no such intentions.

“Nobody has a problem with Ruto becoming a president, as ODM we cannot stop Ruto from becoming the president if Kenyans decide so,” Aladwa said.

The MP said Ruto is a politician and will sell his candidature to Kenyans who will then make a decision on whether to support him or not.

“We don’t want that propaganda of I don’t know Uhuru or Raila fighting Ruto’s 2022 bid. Mawathe was elected in Embakasi, what did ODM do? It just congratulated Mawathe, even Kenyans can decide Ruto becomes president and ODM will do nothing,” Aladwa added.

The vocal Nairobi ODM chairman said DP Ruto allies should stop unnecessary political wars involving Raila Odinga because his handshake with Uhuru is not a ‘political deal’.

“I wonder why they keep dragging Raila’s name, in this country people should respect other people. Raila has not said that he wants to run for president in 2022,” Aladwa said.
