Celebrate lawyer Otiende Amollo shared podium with ODM leader Raila Odinga days after passing of controversial Finance Bill, 2018.
A group of MPs led by Amollo and a section of ODM loyalists opposed the bill contrary to the party's position.
"I would like to thank all ODM legislators who backed the Finance Bill. Our country must move one," said Raila, a day after a stormy parliament session.
Most ODM legislators who opposed the bill have been under pressure to quit their positions for defying the party.
But over the weekend, Otiende first shared podium with his leader at Gem in a burial before joining a fundraiser at Bondo AIC on Sunday.
"This is the true position of the party. We were to vote based on our consciousness and that is exactly what we did," he said at Bondo.
Raila has been under pressure from a section of his supporters who accused him of betrayal over 8% VAT that was imposed on petroleum products.
Mr. Odinga however claimed that the move was appropriate since the country was headed to a big economic crisis.
