A family from Etono market in Ogembo, Kisii County has accused Ogembo police officers over shoddy investigations and failing to arrest a man who beheaded his wife.
The family of the deceased led by Simon Siro claimed that the suspect, Peter Asiago beheaded his wife, Josephine Nyamoita Nyandemo on February, 9th in the year 2014 at Etono market after a domestic quarrel.
Mr Siro told Hivisasa on Sunday that despite the family reporting the matter to Ogembo police station, nothing has been done until today to arrest the murderer who went into hiding.
“We want justice to be done. Police officers at Ogembo have failed to apprehend the suspect even after we were assured that the suspect was to be arrested for prosecution. Josephine was buried at her parents’ home and since then, the detectives have been taking us in cycles,” he said.
Mr Siro added the deceased 2 daughters are traumatised and have been living with their aged grandmother who is unable to pay their school fees and provide them with food.
“Ogembo DCI should stop taking us in cycles. The murderer comes to his home when he feels like and no one is ready to arrest him. All we want is the suspect to be arrested to be charged in a court of law,” he added.
