In an exclusive phone interview on Tuesday, Mulalya said that boys just like girls are in danger of encountering sex pests and they too need protection.

"Our boys more so those aged 14 to 17 years need protection, older women are preying on them for sexual relationships," she said.

Mulalya stated that society should not tolerate such relationships citing that it has been unfair to the boychild.

She further condemned an incident reported last week where a 35-year-old woman was arrested for sleeping with a 17-year-old boy.

The Maendeleo ya Wanawake chairlady said that it's despicable that women of that age don't seek people of their age and decide to go after boys the age of their sons.

She said women should be on the frontline to offer good examples to their children and give them advise on morals.

"At 35 years, you should look for someone of your age or at least an adult instead of a child the age of yours," Mulalya noted.

"If the incident was involving a 17-year-old girl everyone would be speaking but because it's a boy very few people are speaking yet a child is a child and the boy is a minor," she added.

Mulalya also observed that many youths are pushed into sexual relationships in search of money and challenged parents to provide for their kids.
