African Union High Representative for Infrastructural Development Raila Odinga shared a podium with Trade and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, along with Council of Governors boss Wycliffe Oparanya in St. Petersburg, Russia on Thursday.
Last week, Mr Odinga's spokesman Dennis Onyango revealed that the former Prime Minister had been officially invited by the Russian government to grace an energy conference.
"From London, Mr Odinga will travel to St. Petersburg, Russia for the Economic Conference at the invitation of the Russian government.
"He will address sessions on global Energy Sector Challenges and Opportunities, the Russia-Africa Business Dialogue focusing on Investment and Trade and Building a Network of High-Quality Roads," Onyango said in the statement.
On Thursday, Odinga met the two leaders during the International Economic Forum where they were taken through key economic challenges facing the European nation.
"Attended the Energy Panel at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) which has become a leading global platform for members of the business community to meet and discuss the key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets, and the world as a whole," Raila wrote on Facebook.
Last month, Odinga hosted Munya in Kisumu where they announced plans to launch a Special Economic Zone near Muhoroni, a move that further raised questions about his latest influence in government.
