Kenya's opposition leader Raila Odinga received a red carpet reception during the inauguration of Felix Tshisekedi.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday 24th January joined other leaders in the inauguration of President Felix Tshisekedi accompanied by Opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta was accompanied to the inauguration ceremony of President Felix Tshisekedi, by opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as well as Busia County Senator  Amos Wako," Statehouse confirmed in a statement.

Raila who was accorded the red carpet reception when they landed at DRC, seems to enjoying the fruits of the cordial relationship he attained when he was appointed the Special envoy as the High Representative of Africa's Development.

Odinga was among a few prominent African leaders at the inauguration.

"I was honoured to witness the historic inauguration of President Felix Tsishekedi at the Palace of the Nation in Kinshasa. This is the first peaceful transfer of power in the DRC’s history. We wish them stability and prosperity as they proceed with nation building," Raila affirmed.

Raila who ever since he embracing his 'brother' president Uhuru Kenyatta has been receiving the VVIP Protection, reception, and International recognition.

Kenya's opposition leader is one of the Africa's veteran leaders who congratulated Tshisekedi on his victory to succeed the outgoing Joseph Kabila.

"I congratulate President-elect Mr Felix Tshisekedi on his victory and wish him all the best as he embarks on the difficult task of putting the DRC on the path of democracy, unity and prosperity," held Mr Odinga.

The Kenyan delegation to Kinshasa witnessed the former Attorney General Amos Wako, Junet Mohammed, Ledama Ole Kina and Kalonzo Musyoka in President Kenyatta's envoy.

Odinga who lauded the Outgoing president for his commitment to see peaceful transition of power.

"I congratulate Presisent Joseph Kabila for presiding over the very first peaceful transfer of power in the DRC since independence. Congo's success is Africa's success. Long Live Africa."~Odinga stated
