Migori County Governor Zachary Okoth Obado was, until the brutal murder of former Rongo University student Sharon Otieno two months ago, an ordinary county boss.
But before venturing into politics, many knew him merely as a classroom teacher.
However, what many are yet to know is his teaching subjects as approved by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
It can now be revealed that Obado was a teacher of Physics and Accounting.
His very first posting was St Joseph's Rapogi High School in his Migori home County way back in the 90’s.
Here is where the embattled governor met Michael Oyamo, his former Personal Assistant.
Oyamo was the governor's good student in the Accounting class.
“Oyamo was my classmate and Obado taught us Physics in Form One in 1996. He later taught us Accounting in Form Three,” a former Rapogi High school student disclosed to the Standard.
A couple of years later, Obado quit his teaching job before joining the Kenya Sugar Board, Awendo zone as its regional director.
Reports indicate that it is while at the Sugar Board that his urge to venture into politics was birthed.
