Celebrated business mogul Jimmy Wanjigi is preparing to run for a political seat, it has emerged.
Fresh details indicate that the kingmaker is calculating his next steps with regard to venturing into the elective political arena.
The latter has repeatedly revealed supporting various presidential hopefuls, including President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He once claimed that the Jubilee union between Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto was formed in his house.
Currently, he is considered a close ally of opposition leader Raila Odinga and his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) brigade.
He even went ahead to attend Raila's mock presidential inauguration in Uhuru Park, January 30.
But it now emerges that Wanjigi is preparing for his own political bid in the approaching 2022 general elections, and has even settled on a political party on whose ticket he will mandate.
According to the Nation, the latter has reportedly chosen the Democratic Party as his bloc of choice.
He has even approached the party leadership for membership ahead of the much-awaited poll.
However, it's not clear yet on the seat he is eyeing and what his relationship with Raila will be going forward.
He is yet to come out clear on his political plans.
