A boda boda rider who impregnated a primary school girl has gone into hiding with her. This happened on Tuesday at Kiareni village in Marani, Kisii County.
Amos Basweti, the girl’s father said his daughter, Margaret, dropped out of school in class 7 early this term after she got pregnant.
“I had dreams to have my daughter to complete her education smoothly but they were cut short after a well-known boda boda rider in the village impregnated her,” he said.
He said on Tuesday the daughter packed all her belongings and wrote a note saying she has gone to be married by the rider.
Area chief Benson Omweri said the rider, Wilson Makori, has previously managed to escape arrest 3 times.
"We have been trailing Makori to arrest him but he luckily escaped arrest 3 times. It is unfortunate that he has gone into hiding with a minor,” he said.
He said the two are being trailed to Mosocho market.
The administrator warned parents against allowing their daughters to sleep with men mostly boda boda riders who are luring school girls with cheap money.
