Starehe MP Charles Kanyi alias Jaguar has backed Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid saying that he is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The MP says that DP Ruto represents the interests of common Kenyans and that he will spearhead development if elected president in 2022.
Speaking during a church service at Prayers Beyond Boundaries in Nairobi on Sunday, the MP said he will rally young people to support and endorse DP Ruto in 2022.
He said that the former MP will propel the country to greater heights if given a chance to lead.
“DP Ruto has the qualities of a president and we will make him president in 2022 when the time comes,” he said.
The Starehe MP said that the 2022 presidential election will be one-horse race adding that candidates eyeing the seat should bow out and back Ruto.
Jaguar defended politicians who are popularizing DP's 2022 bid stating they are on course with Kenya's political future.
“The 2022 presidential election is not far away and we should not be condemned or criticised for popularizing our candidate,” he said.
Ruto is banking on Uhuru and Mt Kenya’s support for his 2022 presidential bid.
A section of Mt Kenya politicians has, however, been quoted saying that it is not guaranteed that the region will support him.
