Kisii County Governor James Ongwae said DP Ruto should focus on serving Kenyans instead of igniting political temperatures in the country.

"Raila's calls for constitutional amendments should not give DP Ruto sleepless nights," he said at Kereri Girls High school on Monday.

The ODM Governor maintained that the referendum since it would address the issues of wage bills, duplication of jobs among other disparities.

Ongwae said he will mobilize Kisii residents to back up the former Prime Minister's referendum calls.

"Kisii county will not be left behind, I will ensure residents support the referendum being pushed by Raila," he stated.

He argued that DP Ruto should be ready to face any candidate opposition will produce to vie for presidency in 2022.

"Ruto must be ready to battle it out with any candidate opposition will support for presidency. He can't dictate the opposition coalition on who should be on the ballot to compete with him in 2022," he added.
