Arati, speaking on Monday morning during an interview at Egesa FM, said Mr. Gichana is most welcome at home after spending 5 years behind bars.

"Mr. Gichana has undergone hard times in Tanzania prison. As leaders from Gusii region more particularly me, I was fighting for his release. I am a happy man that finally he was released to join us," he said.

He challenged Mr. Gichana to consider vying for a political seat in 2022 because 'he can make a good leader to serve the Gusii community'.

Arati called on Gusii leaders to embrace unity and speak in one voice to articulate issues affecting the community.

He said divisive and hatred politics will hinder development in the two counties in the Gusii region.

"I am appealing to MPs to embrace peace, unity and harmony for the sake of ensuring our community is represented well. Divisions among leaders will hinder development in Nyamira and Kisii Counties," he added.
