Political analyst Ambrose Weda has faulted a section of opposition leaders who have been bashing Deputy President William Ruto lately, over his Sunday attacks on opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Led by Mombasa Governor and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy party leader, the politicians hit out at Ruto for calling Raila a political conman, a remark he made in Kisauni, Mombasa County.
According to Weda, however, Ruto is justified to speak in that tone, judging by his political experience and long-time contact with Raila, adding that Raila's lieutenants are as well wrong by putting him over Ruto.
‘’You cannot compare Ruto to Raila, Ruto has achieved more than Raila. He has taken a very short time to rise to the Deputy President seat as opposed to Raila who has gone through struggles to get what he has now,’’ said Weda.
''They should not be attacking him but instead seeking his advice to better themselves,’’ he said on KBC English Service on Wednesday morning.
Ruto on Sunday accused Raila of plotting his downfall by using his friendship with President Uhuru Kenyatta to expel him (Ruto) from the ruling Jubilee party.
He further poked holes into the former Prime Minister’s political moves, accusing him of attempting to import his political confusion into Jubilee.
‘’We will not allow him to bring his conmanship and confusion to our party,’’ said the DP.
