The newborn has been named Roman Hami Kitili after his great grandfather Kitili wa Muthengi who had 33 wives, the journalist revealed.

He said that the baby and its mother were doing well.

Another rock for my sling..Roman Hami Kitili..named Kitili after his grandfather and great, great grandfather, Kitili wa Muthengi, a legend who had 33 wives..baby and mother are well..we thank God..," Ben Kitili's tweet read.

Mr Kitili tied the knot with Amina Mude, a Somali lady.

The wedding attracted a lot of controversy on social media with a section of users citing the alleged religious differences between the two.

Amina Mude comes from a family that is said to profess the Islamic faith while her husband Ben Kitili professes the Christian faith.

Critics argued that Ben Kitili ought to have converted to Islam before marrying Mude.

Their relationship and marriage have withstood that blistering criticism as the two lovebirds continue to showcase their love for each other.

Kitili and Amina have another child which brings the tally to two.

Social media users send their congratulatory messages to Kitili and his wife.
