The girl had apparently been missing from home for the last three days.

Fred Nambane, the bodaboda operator was traced to his house by locals who found him locked inside his room with the girl while enjoying the forbidden fruit.

"This girl is so stubborn and so stressful. She ran away from home three days ago after coming from school. No one had seen her until today morning when I received a call from one of my friends who told me that she had seen her at a certain man's house," Cecilia Chepkwony, the girl's mother explained.

The angry locals fished out the two before beating up Nambane. They accused bodaboda operators in the area for being behind increased early pregnancy cases among schoolgirls in the village.

"Such people are the reasons why most of the girls are getting pregnant in this village. He has to be taught a lesson or else he will keep misleading our young teenagers," Godfrey Kipruto uncle to the girl said.

In his defence, the bodaboda operator said he did not know the girl was still a student. According to him, the young lady had told him that she was an orphan and had finished secondary education.

"She told me she did her KCSE last year and was an orphan. She begged to come to my place since she did not have any other place to go. Please forgive me," he told the angry locals.
