A senior ODM official has sensationally claimed that Migori Governor Okoth Obado paid Raila Odinga's wife, Ida Odinga a courtesy call on Friday after his release from prison.

Mr. Obado, who is yet to make public appearance, only issued a statement where he called for peace and unity.

"He seems to be interested in a truce after all these tribulations. He met Ida Odinga at Karen home where they discussed a number of issue.

"The Governor wants to end animosity with his ODM party and even unite with other county leaders," said the official, adding that collaboration with Senator Ochillo Ayacko dominated the talk.

Although she rarely appears in public rallies, Ida Odinga is not only respected in her Migori home but also across the country.

Back at home, Obado will find hugely divided people following divisive senatorial by-election in which his candidate, Eddy Oketch, gave his own ODM a run for its money.

All eight MPs, senator and Women Representative along with a host of MCAs have expressed dissatisfaction with his leadership.

In his affidavits over Sharon Otieno's murder, Obado had indicated that he had paid Mama Ida Odinga a courtesy call the day Sharon is said to have died.

A close confidant of the givernor, Mike Ochieng' denied knowledge on the visit to Odinga's but said the governor had received guests from church on Friday.

"I am not aware of visit to Odinga's but they are friends. I am aware of guests from church."
