Five MPs from the region have assured Ruto of their support when that time comes.

Speaking at Ngunga Catholic church in Matungulu during a Sunday service attended by the Deputy President, the legislators said that the move to back the Kalenjin political bigwig was well-thought.

The leaders also said that they will not turn back in the fight to ensure that he ascends to power.

Led by Machakos Town MP, Victor Munyaka, the leaders said that they were determined to make Ruto the President of this nation.

The leaders include Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, Kitui East MP, Nimrod Mbai and others.

“We want to declare here that we are firmly behind Ruto in his journey to 2022 presidency and tell those who want to have the constitution changed to block his bid that they will not succeed,” said MP Dr Munyaka.

The leaders also said that the community has continued to languish in poverty because of poor decision making as far as the leadership of this nation is concerned.

On his part, Musyoka said that two leaders cannot decide the fate of the community.

“Gone are the days when two or three people would decide the political destiny of the nation,” said Musyoka.
