The late Egesa FM Presenter and comedian Joseph Mochere alias Okebiro O'mose worked as a night security guard in Nairobi before he secured a job at the radio station, it has now emerged.
Egesa FM boss Nancy Kwamboka Omweri said Okebiro defied all odds to become an influential radio personality not only in the Gusii region but also across the country.
"Previously, I didn't know Okebiro until a friend introduced him to me. He was a night security guard by then. Egesa FM management picked him and gave him a platform to exploit his talent which he did passionately," she said.
The radio boss said Okebiro left his security guard job and joined Egesa FM as a comedian and a co-host of the thrilling Ekebago show.
She said she will miss him because they used to have fan on radio while doing the show together.
"The pain I have in losing Okebiro is only God who will end it. I will miss Okebiro so much because he used to make me laugh while doing a show with him. Let him shine on his way and dance with the angels in heaven," she noted.
Kwamboka spoke during the burial ceremony of Okebiro at Enchoro village in Nyamira County on Friday.
