According to one client, he lost his phone and cash after spending a night with one of the twilight girls at a hotel in Heshima Nakuru.

“I picked her in town and we agreed to go to Club Five. In the morning, I woke up at 10 am and could not remember the events of the previous night,” the victim told this writer.

The man, whose only crime was seeking sex services to quench his thirst, lost a phone, watch, and cash in the incident.

According to a guard at a building in Gusii Road, Nakuru town, sex workers have devised ways of robbing their clients.

“We always hear cases of men who were robbed at night and the girls disappeared. They call it mchele,” the guard said

.According to a hotel patron, who asked for anonymity, the sex peddlers spike drinks of customers they suspect have lots of cash.

“We had one case here of a Maasai man who had brought a herd of cattle to sell. A woman she had been spending the nights with robbed him one night and disappeared. He said he lost Sh130 thousands,” the patron said.

One sex worker said old girls have mchele and mafuta ya ndege.

“Not all of us, in fact, we are complaining because they giving us a bad name. Mostly it is those who are old in the game and those migrating from Narok, they came with mchele and mafuta ya ndege. As you romp, they make sure your drink is spiked or you sniff the mafuta ya ndege,” the sex worker, identified as Maria wa George, said.

Maria warned clients against allowing other girls to come to your table after you pick whoever you want to go with.

“Those who pretend they are bringing something to the other girl you have picked are the ones who spike your drink. That is how the bad hookers operate,” she added.
