Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has joined the heated debate on the impeachment of Deputy President William Ruto through a motion to be sponsored by Senate Minority leader James Orengo.
The Canadian-based lawyer said the impeachment should not focus on DP Ruto alone but also President Uhuru Kenyatta.
On Monday, Miguna through said that the impeachment motion should be about the Jubilee duo.
"If Orengo intends to bring an impeachment motion, he must do so against the 2 individuals occupying the Presidency, Uhuru Kenyatta and William Samoei Ruto," he tweeted.
Miguna claimed that the DP is a reflection of the head of state as he performs the duties of the President in his absentia s per the constitution of Kenya (2010).
"In a Presidential System, Ruto is merely an appendage of Uhuru Kenyatta. He deputies Uhuru on everything...," claimed Miguna.
The opposition has of late trained its guns on the DP citing that he is not fit to lead the country in his capacity as the DP.
Ruto has found himself in a tight spot as allegations of corruption continue to balloon, especially after the Sh21 billion Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal.
The revelation that Sh21 billion could have been lost in phantom payments for the construction of the two dams in Elgeyo Marakwet county has opened a can of worms in Jubilee.
