The Jubilee MP was arrested on Monday evening and taken to Mikinduri Police Station for allegedly defying Interior CS Fred Matiang'i's orders on Michuki rules.

Mwirigi is said to have incited Probox and motorcycle operators in his constituency to oppose a crackdown on those who have not followed the rules.

Matiang'i said all operators in the country must follow new rules that have been dubbed Michuki rules.

Some of the rules include all bodaboda riders having driving licences.
