Led by Sammy Masila from Mwala Sub County, the locals said the spat between the two leaders is dividing electorates especially Wiper supporters from Ukambani region.

They said Kalonzo should reach out to the duo for mediation.

"The spat between Muthama and Ndeti is hurting the people more and action should be taken as soon as possible. I wonder why the party leader allowed it to reach this far," Masila said.

Masila said Wiper party might lose the Machakos gubernatorial seat due to the wrangles in case of a by-election.

He said there was a rift in the party since some leaders support Muthama while others are rallying behind Ndeti.

"The wrangles will give the incumbent a leverage to retain his seat and Wiper will have lost twice, they should stop fighting amongst themselves and speak with one voice," Masila added.

Lately, there has been tension in Wiper since Muthama started pushing Wavinya Ndeti to drop her August 8,2017's running mate, former EALA MP Peter Mathuki or else he won't support her.

Muthama threatened to vie for the same seat in case of a gubernatorial by-election if Ndeti fails to drop Mathuki as her deputy.
