ODM nominated MP Wilson Sossion has advised Interior CS Fred Matiang’i on what he should do to end rape cases and early marriages among school pupils, students in the country.
Sossion said Matiang’i should start by sacking police officers who lure young girls into sex.
“We have police officers who lure young girls into sex. If Matiang’i wants to end rape in this country, he should start cleaning up in his docket. Security officers who will be found engaging in illicit sex with school girls must be sacked, arrested to face prosecution,” he said.
Sossion regretted that a number of teachers have been accused of luring school girls into sex instead of teaching them.
He said teachers should be at the forefront to ensure school girls are safe.
“Teachers must ensure school girls are not harassed sexually by anyone. It is worrying that the country has witnessed incidents where teachers are being caught in lodging with school girls. Rogue teachers should face the law,” he added.
The KNUT Secretary-General called on parents not to neglect their parental responsibilities, especially during the August holiday when they will be at home with their children.
Sossion spoke on Wednesday at Kisii High School.
