Museo claims that some politicians have abandoned their duties and are engaging in early campaigns.

Speaking to journalists in Wote town on Wednesday, the county MP said it is wrong for elected leaders to abandon their duties.

She said elected leaders have a duty and are answerable to their electorate.

“It is not good for elected leaders to shun their work and engage in early campaigns,” Museo said.

Museo asked residents to note leaders who have abandoned their duties and punish them in 2022.

The Wiper legislator said residents have a right to demand services from their elected leaders.

Some politicians in Makueni are said to be lobbying for the gubernatorial seat in 2022.

Governor Kivutha Kibwana is serving his last term in office.

Makueni Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau is among the politicians eyeing the county's top seat.

Mwau had declared her interest for the county's top seat in November 2018.

She said she is experienced enough to be a governor.

Kitui West MP Patrick Musimba and Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior are also said to be eyeing to succeed Governor Kibwana in 2022.
