City lawyer Nelson Havi has 'revealed' the identity of the state officer who was in one of the vehicles that were blocked by human rights activist Boniface Mwangi.
In a tweet on Monday, Havi contended that the state officer inside the vehicle was the Chief Justice David Maraga, who he described as his personal friend.
The renowned lawyer called for Mwangi to be arrested and charged with obstruction as the Chief Justice had every right to drive in the wrong side of the road.
"Well, if it is my friend the CJ, he has the right of way even on the wrong way. Boniface Mwangi should be arrested for obstruction and attempted kidnap. Two strokes of the cane will just do him fine!" Havi's tweet reads.
Boniface Mwangi is said to have pulled his car in front of the wailing state cars and adamantly refused to give way in the early morning incident.
The video of the incident has gone viral and touched off a raging debate on social media on whether the human rights activist acted appropriately.
Chief Justice David Maraga is among a slew of state officers allowed by law enforcement authorities to drive unobstructed and have sirens on their vehicles.
