My relationship with Deputy President William Ruto is intact, Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has said.
Maangi who has declared an interest to succeed his boss Governor James Ongwae in 2022 argued that his political enemies are out to mislead members of the public that he slapped Jubilee politician Antony Kibagendi because of 2022 politics.
"No opponent is going to succeed in breaking my good relationship with DP Ruto. Those responsible for propaganda being peddled on social media that I am desperately chasing DP Ruto to help me in 2022 general elections are liars who should be ignored," he said.
He warned rivals against concentrating on propaganda instead of lying strategies to clinch various political seats in 2022.
"Propaganda won't make the desperate political rivals win political seats in 2022. It is my humble advise that those aspiring to be elected in 2022 should focus on wooing the electorates to vote for them instead of dragging me along," he added.
Maangi urged residents to shun local politician engaging in hatred, divisive and clan politics.
"Residents should side with leaders who have put development their first priority," said Maangi.
