(Kennedy Mong'are Okong'o was the first Nyamira Senator. He is also the National Liberal Party leader)
Sometimes, power can get to the heads of some people in power to the extent of losing focus on the imaginary powers they hold.
I was surprised to see Borabu MP Ben Momanyi get elated and out of touch while telling a congregation at a fundraiser in Rangenyo Catholic Church how he won a second term and went on to name former MPs in the county who, unfortunately, lost.
He further went on to say how powerful and important he is as a member of the Parliamentary Service Commission, where he purports to pay salaries to lawmakers. My advice to my good friend is not to lose focus in the illusion of power and I refer him to read the late GG Kariuki's book titled "Illusion of Power".
I want to further remind him that I never lost the senatorial seat as he wants the people of Nyamira to believe. My political aspirations are higher than Borabu MP's myopic and narrow machinations. I had an intent to run for the presidency while Momanyi and his ilk were idols worshipping some imaginary political godfathers.
Now that the Borabu MP has declared to run for Governor of Nyamira a year into his second term, my promise to him is that he must be prepared to face an uphill task at an appropriate time and ours will be a well issue-oriented campaign in transformation of the County of Nyamira which is now on autopilot development wise.
Those who supported the governor to run down the county are now pretenders to the throne.
