Political analyst Brian Weke now claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta's recent decision to put Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matingi at the helm of his cabinet might have been a product of his advisors.
On Tuesday evening Uhuru named head the newly constituted National Development Implementation and Communication Committee, meaning that he will be the Super Minister watching over his colleagues.
The new role also places him as Uhuru's third eye on matters government political initiatives, a role initially played by Ruto through his many trips across the nation as he launched development projects.
According to Weke, Uhuru's advisers might have taken issue with the politics that always takes center stage in Ruto's functions, and declared him unfit for such role and a threat to Uhuru's legacy bid.
"It seems that realized that Ruto is using his position to push for the realization of his 2022 presidential bid and decided to bring a new person who has no political interests at the time being," said Weke who doubles up as a lawyer.
However, he noted that Uhuru was right in his move, observing that Matiangi is a performer who has scored major achievements in the three ministries he has been deployed to.
"Uhuru is right to push out Ruto who seems obsessed with 2022 politics and replace him with Matiangi who is a performer and a dependable man," he added.
Ruto has since welcomed the move though pundits and a number of pundits are observing it ad another offensive on the DP and an attempts to dim his presidential ambitions.
