Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has said that he will push for the review of the country's security and anti-terrorism laws once Parliament resumes from recess next month.
Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Wednesday, Duale said he will be pushing to strengthen anti-terror laws.
He said that there is an urgent need to strengthen the security laws in order to effectively combat terrorism and other emerging crimes.
"I will be pushing for a review of the anti-terror laws to protect Kenyans against terror elements and their sympathisers," he said.
Duale, while castigating the Tuesday Dusit D2 hotel terror attack in Nairobi's 14 Riverside drive, urged Kenyans to remain united.
The MP urged Kenyans not to listen to propaganda that terrorism is a religious affair.
"No religion advocates for terrorism and as a country we must reject attempts to be divided by terror agents, " he added.
Fourteen people lost their lives in the Dusit terror attack.
On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta said six attackers behind the terror attack were killed by security forces.
The president called on Kenyans and visitors to remain vigilant and guaranteed them of there safety.
