Despite receiving a Ksh20 million mortgage to enable them to own a house in Nairobi, the group has placed another proposal that it succeeds, will see them instead of living in hotels.

They have placed a new demand for accommodation allowance, that will enable them get a five-star hotel treatment when in Nairobi for official reasons.

The new apparent plans to milk Kenyans even more, considering that they will be receiving both the allowance and mortgage and is to apply to both houses, the Senate and the National Assembly.

Actually, they are arguing that the new perks were approved last year, but are being held by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

It also appears like a plot to ease the burden of repaying the mortgages which are supposed to service upon the lapse of their terms.

"The committee also observed that during the financial year 2018/2019, among other programmes, the commission budgeted for facilitation of members of Parliament accommodation when they come to Nairobi to discharge their legislative work.

The committee observed that the said budget may not have been expended and was therefore interested in knowing the status of implementation of the specific allocation,” reads reports tabled in the house last week.

The report was tabled and considered by the National Assembly committee on Members Services and Facilities Committee, reports the Standard.

This promises to dent Kenyans pockets, even more, considering that there is a total of 413  parliamentarians in both legislative houses.

They also want the establishment if a gift shop at the Parliament area and employment of public health specialists to ensure they are safe on matters health.
