Kisii Catholic Bishop Joseph Mairura has told men to stop killing women when they reject them.
Mairura regretted that most women have been slaughtered by men in the name of love.
"Unnecessary killings are unacceptable. It is time men should stop slaughtering women when they end a relationship. Men must accept the decision a women makes in any relationship and not ending their lives prematurely," he said.
He called on police officers not to spare men who kill their wives.
"The law protects every individual in this country. I am, therefore, calling on security team not to condone men killing innocent women. Killers should be arrested to face the law," he noted.
He assured that the Catholic church is at the forefront praying for troubled marriages to bring peace, unity and harmony.
The Bishop urged the Judiciary not to free murderers when arraigned in court.
"Men taken to court over murder must be jailed. The judiciary should not free them since they pose as a danger to the lives of people not only women," he added.
He was speaking on Saturday at Nyabururu Parish in Kitutu Chache South, Kisii County.
