Speaking to journalists moments after the Supreme Court validated his victory, Mutua urged Ndeti and other Machakos leaders to work with him.

He said there is no point of leaders keeping political grudges against each other.

“I urge my sister Ndeti to now support and work with me as we push for development of our people,” Mutua said.

The Machakos county boss thanked residents for standing with him during the appeal case period.

Mutua said the court's victory now gives him the opportunity to focus on service delivery.

He promised to deliver all the development pledges he made to Machakos residents in the run-up to the 2017 general election.

The Supreme Court on Friday upheld Mutua’s victory, ruling that he was validly elected.

In June, the Court of Appeal nullified the Maendeleo Chap Chap governor’s victory on grounds that it was not free and fair.

The appellate court faulted the IEBC returning officer for using an excel spreadsheet to declare the gubernatorial results.

Ndeti had petitioned Mutua's victory citing massive irregularities and illegalities.

In March, Machakos High court upheld the governor's victory forcing Ndeti to appeal the ruling in the Court of Appeal.
