Senior Cheif Koinange Girls in Kiambu County has been closed indefinitely after a dormitory was razed down on Tuesday morning.

The dormitory went up in flames at 5am when students were attending their preps in class.

The school management confirmed that none of the students was injured during the morning incident.

The fire is said to have destroyed the belongings of 150 students.

Neighbours helped the Kiambu County Government fire department in putting out the fire in an exercise that lasted for over two hours.

Confirming the incident, County Commander Adiel Nyange said police have launched investigations into the matter to determine the cause of the fire.
