A group of men believed to be members of the notorious Sungusungu outlawed gang raided a Chang'aa den in Keroka town on Tuesday and abducted a famous businessman, it has emerged.
The heavily armed illegal group frog-marched the man identified as John before executing and dumping his body at Kiamokama, several Kilometers from the crime scene.
According to former Rigoma MCA aspirant Nyambega Gisesa, John, who ran the cheapest brothel at Camp Shetani, was accused by the vigilant group of planning the murder of a business woman several years ago.
"He was running Camp Shetani brothel, the notorious changaa den in Keroka.
"They reportedly accused him of killing a woman several years ago. By the time he died, people say he had over Sh6 million in his bank account," he said.
Also, Mr. John, a notorious bhang trafficker, reportedly owned two cars which he used to do his business with.
Police have remained mum over the death even as his body was fetched from the crime scene to Keroka.
Sungusungu group was a community policing group formed about a decade ago to deal with criminals in Gusii region and is synonymous with brutal execution of their victims.
After residents accused it of engaging in illegal business ong them being used to revenge, the government outlawed it.
