Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has appealed to his county residents to remain vigilant and support the government's initiatives aimed at fighting terrorism.
Speaking in Garissa Town on Saturday, Duale said that terrorism remains a threat in the region and the country at large.
He said that while the government is keen on taming terrorism agents, locals must be ready to volunteer information.
Duale said that the government will not spare anyone found to be abetting terror activities.
"We are determined and we are going to take the war to their doorsteps," the Garissa MP said.
Duale said that terrorists' agenda is to divide Kenyans on religious grounds.
The leader of the majority in the National Assembly urged young people not to be swayed by terror agents.
He instead asked young people to work with their elected leaders on development.
"Young people must know that there is no honour or pride in terrorism," he said.
Duale asked local leaders and clan elders to help sensitise young people on the dangers of terrorism.
Garissa is among counties that have in recent years been hit with deadly terror attacks.
The April 2, 2015 terrorist attack at the Garissa University College left 147 students dead and others injured.
Security has since been heightened at the university.
