Tough-talking Ethics and Anti-Corruption (EACC) boss Twalib Mbarak sent a strong message to governors seeking 'better' treatment during arrests.
Speaking on Wednesday to members of the press after a closed-door meeting with religious leaders, the ex-serviceman said that the law would be applied equally, and there would be no preferential treatment given to the county bosses.
Twalib maintained that no distinction would be made between those with high and low social standing, saying that there is no blue collar and white collar crime.
"I think the law is very clear. We don't have white collar and blue collar suspects. Criminal suspects are suspects.
"If the law will be amended that we have white collar suspects and we should have Mercedes Benz air-conditioned for them, we will do it," Twalib said.
The EACC boss advised the governors to desist from engaging in underhand dealings to avoid their houses being raided and being arrested.
Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu had his homes raided by EACC sleuths last week as they sought evidence in a corruption investigation that they are conducting against the governor.
Former Nairobi County Governor Evans Kidero has been arrested previously by the EACC over alleged embezzlement of funds in Nairobi county during his stint as governor.
