Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has threatened to table a motion in parliament to impeach Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich if he fails to lower fuel prices.
Mule criticized the CS for effecting the 16 percent VAT on all petroleum products.
Speaking at Tala town in his constituency on Saturday, Mule said Kenyans are the most taxed in Africa.
"Kenyans are the most taxed citizens in Africa. If Rotich doesn't change his decision on the 16 percent VAT on fuel by Monday, then he should be ready to go home," Mule said.
Mule said it's wrong and despicable for Rotich to go against the parliament's move to suspend the 16 percent VAT tax.
He said the government should focus on cushioning Kenyans from the high cost of living.
Mule said the Jubilee's administration is instead putting more baggage on Kenyan's backs.
He said the tax will take a toll on Kenyans, more so those with low income.
Mule spoke at a thanksgiving ceremony of Father Brian Mumo.
He said it should be remembered that Rotich was the one who gave out a gazette notice for the importation of contraband sugar.
The 16 percent VAT on petroleum products took effect on September 1, 2018.
The pump prices for petrol and diesel are expected to go up by 10 percent while Kerosene increases by 12 percent.
