Kibwana said the claims doing round on some social media platforms that he is planning to ditch Wiper Party are false.

The Wiper governor said he is in Wiper and has not resigned as the party’s chairperson.

“I have not quit or planning to quit Wiper Party as it is being speculated on some social media,” Kibwana said.

Kibwana said he is focused on his last term as a governor and will not be dragged into dirty petty politics.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK) conference in Mombasa on Wednesday.

There have been claims that the second term Makueni governor is not happy with how decisions in Kalonzo’s party are being made.

Kibwana who doubles as Wiper Party chairperson is said to be dissatisfied with a section of the party’s leadership.

He is among the Kamba politicians who questioned Kalonzo’s "mtu wa mkono" (errand boy) remark.

Kibwana has been criticized by a section of Wiper politicians among them Kathiani MP Robert Mbui for questioning Kalonzo’s remark.

The Makueni county boss dissolved his Muungano Party in the run-up to the August 8, 2017, general election to merge with Kalonzo’s Wiper Party.
