As security forces engaged suspected Al Shabaab militants in Dusit Hotel Complex in Nairobi, one Kenyan impressed hundreds of Nyamira residents, several miles away from the capital city.
Specialised in among others, dealing with carjackers and offering emergency shooting aide, Mr Iyanat Kassam was yet again pictured evacuating several Kenyans trapped in the building.
A section of Nyamira residents want now President Uhuru Kenyatta to award him Head of State Commendation award following his Tuesday heroics at Westlands.
"Not easy to get such a person who sacrifices his life to save others. I have seen photos even showing that Jr helped many in 2013. He should be awarded immediately. These are heroes that go unnoticed," Dennis Marube wrote on ODM Youth League WhatsApp group.
On Borabu Watchtower WhatsApp group, Samson Omosa, a senior lecturer added: "Kudos to security forces for gunning down those idiots. However, I'd like to hail Mr Kassam for a nice job. As Kenyans, we need trainings from him."
At least 14 people, President Uhuru Kenyatta said, died in the attack, adding that security forces managed to evacuate more than 700 people who were at risk of being killed.
The President also confirmed that the criminals involved were all murdered following gunfire exchanges with security officers in the modest building.
Mr Kassam, who trended on various social media forums, is the Director in charge of Scorpion company which offers security services and training within Nairobi and it's environs.
