In a tweet on Sunday, Miguna claimed that one of the voices in the audio belonged to Tuju.

"I have listened to the leaked telephone conversation between my old friend Raphael Tuju - MANUAR - and Nyanja and wish to confirm that the voice of the person suggesting the rebuilding of the burnt down Kiambaa Church is @RaphaelTuju_EGH. Manuar: pack up your bags and leave, he said.

Following the emergence of the audio, a section of legislators have called for the resignation of Tuju from the party.

"We cannot have a Secretary General who betrays the very government we have formed…you must immediately tender your resignation to the President and let the party pick someone else…,” Kandara MP Alice Wahome said as quoted by Citizen.

Miguna noted that he is not surprised by calls for Tuju's resignation, addition that opposition chief Raila Odinga, will soon suffer the same fate.

“I knew it. Today, it is "Tuju must go!" Tomorrow, it will be "@RailaOdinga Toka!" The choirmaster is Uhuru Kenyatta even though the puppeteers are @WilliamsRuto's surrogates. The problem with @RailaOdinga and his zombies is that they think with their stomachs; not their brains,” he tweeted.

Tuju is yet to issue an official statement on the alleged audio conversation between him and Nyanja.
