Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria has bashed the media for spreading false information about his purported resignation.
The leader was on Thursday afternoon reported having resigned from the post as was reported by some media houses, including the leading ones.
But in an interview on Citizen TV later in the evening, Kuria maintained that he has not done the same and is actually shocked by the reports.
"I was very surprised when I heard through the media that I have resigned. I have not done so and I remain the Gatundu South parliamentarian," he said.
He condemned media houses for hurriedly publishing the rumor before confirming it, terming it saddening that the information got its way to the public despite being false.
"It's below the par that media houses, including some of our major newsrooms, can rush to publish such information without verifying it," said Kuria.
The rumor comes amid his ongoing row with politicians allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta after he openly condemned the President for sidelining Central Kenya region in his development agenda.
It comes barely a week after Uhuru's Jubilee Party Former Vice Chairman David Murathe resigned after launching a scathing attack on Deputy President William Ruto.
Murathe cited his ideological differences with the DP as the reason behind his exit, saying that he cannot work alongside a man he seeks to bar from the presidency in 2022.
