Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua now claims that certain forces could be funding former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti’s court cases.
Mutua claims that Wavinya Ndeti has no money to pay top lawyers handling her cases in court.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Citizen on Friday, Mutua said Ndeti cannot afford to pay top lawyers who demand Sh25 million before taking up cases.
“My friend Wavinya Ndeti should tell us the source of the money she is using to pay lawyers who have been handling her cases in court,” Mutua said.
Mutua said the same people who could be allegedly funding Ndeti’s court cases are ready to splash the cash in her campaigns in case of a by-election.
He further claimed the same people are behind a series of propaganda against him and his government.
The embattled governor said he is not afraid and is ready to square it out with the former MP in case of a by-election.
Mutua’s election was nullified by the Court of Appeal on grounds that it was not free and fair.
The appellate court ordered for fresh gubernatorial poll.
Mutua, however, filed an appeal in Supreme Court that is pending hearing and determination.
